What Are Immersion Heater Tubes?

Immersion heater tubes are specially designed components used to heat and control the temperature of liquids or gases in industrial processes. These tubes are immersed directly into the lquid metal to be heated, allowing for efficient heat transfer. Immersion heater tubes typically consist of a heating element encased in a protective tube made from various materials, depending on the specific application.

How Do Immersion Heater Tubes Work?

Immersion heater tubes operate on the principle of Joule heating, which involves passing an electric current through a resistive element within the tube. This resistive element generates heat due to its electrical resistance. The heat is then transferred to the surrounding liquid or gas through the tube's material, effectively raising the temperature of the medium.

Degassing Units
Perhaps one of the most critical applications of Sialon immersion heater tubes is in degassing units. The heatertube heats the metal bath of degassers such as an Alpur Degasser. Degassers help remove impurities, such as hydrogen and other impurities from molten metals, ensuring the quality of the final product.
